Creation story Faith Toddler activities

Teaching the Creation story to a 2 year old

‭ We were planning on starting to teach some bible lessons to J when he turns 2. But I had no idea where to start. There were many blogs which had activities listed for older kids, but not for a toddler J’s age.‭

So with J turning 2 recently, I came up with some activities I could do with him while we talked about God’s creations. I will go over what we did with J here.

I focused on one Creation Day for a whole week, which means we talked about the Creation story for 7 weeks with J. That does not mean we made lesson plans for every single day of the week.

We started everyday by reading the creation story from J’s toddler Bible. I limited to 3 activities per week, which meant we only did the creation story activities for 3 days a week. Mostly this would be Monday, Wednesday and Friday giving some break days within the week, when we would do other activities.

The idea is to keep the conversation going and talk about God creating the small and big things that the toddler sees around him everyday. I enjoyed doing these activities with him, and it was so much fun from my side to see him learning and experiencing God’s word.

There are many other small activities that you could do depending on your toddler’s interest. I have documented just a select few. I hope it’s a start for you and your toddler to dive into God’s word together.
